Where Winds Meet is quickly approaching its one-month mark since release, and they are not missing a beat with their updates. Alongside the mobile launch, December will bring new quests, zones, bosses, events, a firework festival, and a few other surprises you’ll see sprinkled throughout the roadmap. In this post, we’ll break everything down week by week so you can see exactly what’s coming this month.

Week 1: Two New Jianghu Legacies

Week 1 starts strong with the addition of two new Jianghu Legacies in the Kaifeng region.

12/01 | Jianghu Legacy: Twelve Years of Feuds
12/04 | Jianghu Legacy: An Unholy Prophecy

What is a Jianghu Legacy?
Jianghu Legacies are expanded, story-driven side quests. They’re scattered across the map and often involve combat, exploration, and puzzle solving. I haven’t reached any in Kaifeng yet, but I’ve completed several in Qinghe, and each one has taken me over an hour to finish. They’ve easily been some of the most enjoyable discoveries during my playthrough.

Where can I find Jianghu Legacies in the menu?
You can find Jianghu Legacies in your Journal, under the Story tab in the main menu.

Once you’re in the Journal tab, make sure to tab over to the Kaifeng region. That is where both of these Legacies will take place. You’ll see a section called Jianghu Legacy, click on it.

Once you are in the Jianghu Legacy menu, you will see several legacies listed. The two new ones are number 6 and 7.

Go ahead and click into the one you want to complete. This will give you more information about the quest and the rewards you can earn. You can also go to your quest book to find the legacy and track it.

Week 2: Roaring Sands Zone, Mobile Launch, New Bosses & Events

Week Two marks our first substantial update since release, bringing several new pieces of content.

12/11 | Global Mobile Launch
The first highlight is the Global Mobile Launch. I have honestly never been a phone gamer, but I can understand the appeal. The idea of being able to pick up and play this game anywhere I please is a nice concept. I was already ecstatic that this game launched with cross-progression, so now having a third solid option to play on is fantastic. Time will tell how well the mobile version will run this beauty of a game, but I think the more options players have, the better, and the mobile gaming community is huge. With how massive that audience is, this could really open the doors for an even larger player base.

12/11 | New Zone: Roaring Sands - Kaifeng Map Completion & Exploration Expansion
Week Two also brings a new zone called the Roaring Sands. This zone will finally complete the Kaifeng region and introduce a plethora of new things to do. And if you are anything like me, you aren’t even close to having explored and completed everything in the other areas. I am a huge fan of map expansions. I love to explore, so I am very excited for this.

12/11 | New Campaign: River Master
A new campaign will be released on December 11th. You will need to travel to the Roaring Sands in Kaifeng and unlock the Heavenfalls Campaign. Attached below is an exact map location.

12/11 | New World Boss: Feng Ruzhi
I don’t know much about this boss, but I am sure it will provide a fun new challenge for players to encounter. More boss variety is hardly ever a bad thing, and Feng Ruzhi's design on the roadmap looks very cool. You will find her within this yellow circle in Kaifeng Roaring Sands.

12/11 | Limited-Time Activities: Fortune Beyond Parlor (Event)
12/11 | Limited-Time Activities: The Great Faceologist (Event)

Again, I don’t know much about these two limited-time activities, but if they follow other events we’ve received, there are sure to be new rewards to gather.

12/14 | Sect: Velvet Shade
On December 14th we will be getting access to the new Velvet Shade Sect. You may have seen this in the game, but we haven’t had the ability to actually join this sect yet. You will need to Complete Jianghu Legacy: Shadows in Bloom to increase your sect ranking and uncover secret rules.

What are Sects?
Sects are basically factions that you can join. In order to join, you usually have to follow some type of quest or test. Once you are in, each sect will have rules you must follow, along with unique rewards you can only obtain by progressing within that sect.

Where do I find Sects?
You can find the Sects tab underneath the Mode section in your main menu. Go ahead and click on it, and if you are sectless it will show you a variety of sects that exist within the game. You can go to each one, and it will give you more info about them.

If you scroll down to Velvet Shade, you’ll see this information.

Week 3: New Sword Trial & Hero’s Realm

Week Three brings a new Sword Trial and Hero’s Realm battles. So for all you combat junkies, these are for you!

12/21 | Sword Trial: Scarlet Shock (Sleeping Daoist / Murong Yuan)
12/21 | Hero’s Realm: Blazing Gale Dance (Twin Lions / Murong Yuan)

So, I won’t lie, this is not content I’ve participated in yet. I’ll do my best to explain it for those who also haven’t tried these but would like to.

Where do I find the Sword Trial & Hero’s Realm?
Pull up your main menu and look for the Wandering Paths tab underneath the Mode section. Click on it.

Once you’re on this screen, click on the Challenges tab.

This will show you several different challenges you can partake in. Go ahead and tab over to the Hero’s Realm tab. At the bottom, it shows an “Intro” section. Click that and it will give you more info on the Hero’s Realm. It looks to be a sort of trial-style content where you are running a circuit of bosses with several other players (10 to be exact). This comes with its own rewards that you acquire. It also looks like this is a weekly challenge.

Next, tab over to the Sword Trial section. There is a Mode Guide at the bottom, click it for more details. It looks like you can team up with 2–5 players, overtake outposts, and earn chests along the way.

Week 4: Fireworks Festival Year-End Wrap-Up

Finally, we end the month of December, as well as the year, with a Fireworks Festival!

12/30 | Fireworks Festival
I have no information on what is included in this festival yet, but I am sure there will be plenty of activities to enjoy and rewards to receive. I will update this as new information is released!

Final Thoughts

I am genuinely excited for what’s to come and impressed that we received a full roadmap just for the month of December. It’s rare to see this much content released so soon after launch, and even more surprising to see it arrive in such steady waves. If this month is any indication of what’s to come in the following months, then I can’t wait to see what future updates bring.
