The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Fishing Guide - How to Get Started
Learn how to start fishing in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin with this quick beginner guide. Follow simple steps to unlock fishing, craft bait, and start building your collection while taking a break from the main game.
Fishing in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is easy to overlook at first, but it’s a nice change of pace from the main game and a fun activity for players who enjoy collecting everything the world has to offer.
You can begin fishing at any moment, but I recommend following The Fear of Water quest to help give you more insight into how to fish. You can find this quest by traveling to Lake Pernes and heading to the location shown on the map below.

When you arrive, you will be looking for an NPC by the name of Fishiel. This is the NPC you are looking for.

Fishiel will have you go talk to Owen. Follow the quest marker, and it will lead you directly to him.

Owen will tell you that you need to make bait in order to fish. While you can fish without bait, you will have a better chance of catching something with it attached. From here, pull out your crafting workbench to get started.

Go ahead and open the crafting menu, select Low-Quality Bait, and craft a few to get started.

Exit out of the crafting workbench and head up to the lake. Once you are in the correct proximity, you will see a Fish option appear. Go ahead and press the button that shows on your screen.

You will then have the option to choose a bait to use. Go ahead and select Low-Quality Bait if it is not already selected.

On a side note, you can also view the fish you are able to catch once you are in the fishing menu.

Once you have your bait selected, you can begin fishing. Move your cast around to find an optimal spot, then go ahead and cast your line.

Once you get a bite, you will be introduced to the fishing mini game. Your goal here is to reel the fish in while keeping the indicator aligned within the glowing yellow section. As long as you keep it in that zone, you will maintain tension and successfully bring the fish in.

And ta-da, you have caught your first fish! You will be shown this screen, giving you more information on what you caught.

Fish you catch will be added to your fishing codex, which can be found within your item codex.

Fishing in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is a simple and relaxing side activity that gives you a nice break from the main game while letting you build out your collection. It is easy to pick up, and once you get the hang of it, it becomes a satisfying way to slow things down and enjoy the world a bit more.
