10 Night Market Tips For Solo ESO Players
The Night Market can feel overwhelming for solo players, especially if you don’t have a guild or regular group to run with. In this guide, I share 10 tips that helped me participate in the event, complete quests, and keep progressing without a dedicated team.
I went into the Night Market fully expecting that I wouldn’t be able to run it solo… and honestly, I was completely right lol. If you’re also a solo player but still want to attempt the Night Market and grab these limited-time rewards, stay tuned. Here are my top 10 tips for Night Market solo players in The Elder Scrolls Online.
1. Don’t Be Afraid To Use Group Finder

I’ve been playing The Elder Scrolls Online off and on since 2020, and somehow I had never used the Group Finder feature before. I figured there are probably other players like me who knew it existed but avoided it because joining random groups felt a little intimidating.
During this event especially, I noticed a lot of solo players finally giving it a shot. Honestly, using Group Finder ended up helping me way more than I expected. I got into some really solid groups that helped me grind enemies, complete my dailies, knock out a few tasks in my Golden Pursuits, and collect splinters to unlock rooms in the Night’s Den.
What I’m ultimately saying is don’t sleep on the Group Finder. I know joining random groups can feel overwhelming at first, especially if you usually play solo. And yes, I definitely ended up in a few scattered groups that I eventually had to leave. But I also came across some genuinely great groups of people who were all just trying to accomplish the same goals I was.
If you haven’t used the Group Finder before, or you’re just now learning about this feature, here’s how to access it. Open your menu and scroll down to Activity Finder. From there, scroll down again to Group Finder. Click Find Group, then scroll down to Event Zone. This will show you players who are currently looking for groups within the Night Market.
You can also create your own group if you’d rather start one yourself. Depending on the time of day, you may see more or fewer group options available, but overall, I’ve had pretty good luck finding groups with this feature
2. Play During Busy Hours If You Need Help
This tip can be a bit hit or miss since I know work schedules and real-life responsibilities can affect when people are able to play. But if you do have the flexibility, I would definitely recommend playing more during the evening hours. That’s typically when the servers feel the busiest and most active.
I personally had the most luck during the mid-day and later evening hours when it came to finding decent groups, either organically within the zone or through the Group Finder. More active players usually means more people farming objectives, running dailies, and looking to group up, which can make the Night Market feel a lot easier as a solo player.
3. Follow Random Players Around Event Areas
This was the strategy I originally started with, which ultimately led me to using the Group Finder feature because I was having trouble consistently finding groups. Occasionally, though, I would come across 3–4 other players and just follow them around the zone.
Honestly, this worked really well for completing dailies and farming enemies for the chance at unique drops, including the splinters you need to unlock rooms in the Night’s Den. Even if you’re not officially grouped up, simply sticking near other players can make the Night Market feel a lot more manageable as a solo player.
4. Bring A Companion Everywhere

Having a somewhat built-up companion equipped with healing or tank abilities can definitely help you get out of intense situations a little easier. They can provide just enough support to help you survive while moving through the zone or completing objectives.
That being said, unless your character is already very well built and capable of soloing difficult enemies, I personally wouldn’t rely on just you and your companion to handle the Night Market alone. At least based on my experience, this content is genuinely difficult.
I found that I thrived the most in groups of at least 4 or more players, and honestly, the bigger the group, the better things usually went.
5. Sneaking Around Helped More Than Fighting Everything
If you happen to have a Nightblade toon handy, then sneaking around might honestly be your best strategy for finishing dailies efficiently. I did not lol, so I mostly just tried my best to sneak around whatever I could.
Trying to avoid unnecessary fights honestly saved me a lot of time and frustration. If your main goal is just getting your dailies done and moving through objectives quickly, stealth can help way more than trying to fight every enemy you come across.
6. Invisibility Potions Can Be Extremely Useful

If you don’t have a build that allows you to easily sneak around, then invisibility potions can honestly help a lot in tight situations. If you don’t already have some on hand, you can usually grab a few from different guild vendors for a pretty cheap price.
These obviously won’t be as reliable as having an actual sneak-focused build since they only last for a limited amount of time. However, they can still help you get through certain sections of the zone much easier and, overall, help you complete your dailies a lot faster.
7. Let Yourself Die Sometimes

Respawning invisibility can actually help you reach difficult objectives safely.
If you don’t have a Nightblade and you just want to get your dailies done, honestly, just let the enemies attack you and die. Seriously. Once you respawn, you stay invisible for a short period of time. I would use that invisibility window to quickly run toward my daily quest location and complete objectives that didn’t involve killing enemies that way.
Just keep in mind that doing this will burn through your gear durability pretty fast, so make sure you keep plenty of repair kits on hand just in case.
8. Focus On Dailies First
If your main goal for participating in the Night Market is earning enough favor to complete the “Earn 5,000 Faction Favor” task in your Tamriel Tomes, then you may want to focus primarily on your faction daily quest, Dorfifar’s daily quest, and the blue repeatable quests scattered throughout each zone.
If earning favor is your main focus, this is honestly one of the quickest and easiest ways to make steady progress, especially since the favor adds up pretty fast if you stay consistent and do them every day.
The faction daily and Dorfifar’s quest will more than likely require you to group up with other players. However, the blue repeatable quests can often be completed solo if you take your time and sneak around enemies when possible. I was able to complete several of those without needing a group at all since many of them don’t actually require you to kill enemies.
9. Focus On The Rewards You Actually Care About
If you’re a solo player and aren’t highly interested in running the Night Market every single day for the entire duration of the event, then I would honestly recommend figuring out exactly which rewards you want and building a game plan around that.
For me personally, the main rewards I wanted were acquiring the Night’s Den and unlocking all of the extra rooms. I also wanted to complete the seasonal task in my Tamriel Tomes book to earn 5,000 favor. Once I finish those two objectives, I can either call it quits or continue grinding if I feel like it. But at the very least, I’ll have gotten the rewards I cared about most without completely burning myself out.
Try to figure out what you want most from the event, whether that’s the same rewards I was after or specific items from the faction vendors. Having clear goals can honestly save you a lot of time and frustration while also making the event feel much more manageable as a solo player.
10. You Don’t Need To Play Perfectly To Enjoy The Event
Solo players can still participate successfully.
One thing I realized pretty quickly during the Night Market is that you really don’t need to play perfectly to still enjoy the event and make progress. As a solo player, it’s completely okay to adapt your playstyle based on what works best for you.
For me personally, the event became way more enjoyable once I stopped putting so much pressure on myself to clear everything efficiently or keep up with larger groups at all times. Instead, I started focusing more on the rewards and activities I actually cared about most.
Whether your goal is unlocking the Night’s Den, farming favor, collecting specific rewards, or simply experiencing the event casually, there’s no “perfect” way to play it. Honestly, finding a pace and strategy that works for you will probably make the event feel a lot less stressful and a lot more fun overall.
Final Thoughts
The Night Market may not feel perfectly balanced for solo players, especially if you’re used to playing completely on your own. There were definitely moments where the event felt difficult without a group. However, there are still plenty of ways to participate, make progress, and earn rewards without needing to hardcore grind the event every single day.
For me, temporary groups and a few smart strategies made a huge difference. Using the Group Finder, sticking near other players, sneaking through objectives, and focusing on specific goals helped make the event feel much more manageable overall.
Even as a solo player, rewards like the free house, extra rooms in the Night’s Den, and other event rewards still feel very achievable without completely exhausting yourself trying to do everything perfectly.
